Ronda Roberts High Heel Samurai:
High Fashion and Street Gangs 3
August 1, 2008
The theme of this episode is “boy problems.” It opens with Sophie (Sam Pannier) on a date with Jim (William Houldcroft). Jim beams with excitement to be on a date with Sophie. He then exclaims that he cannot wait to meet her friends. He then starts droning on about furniture. After his enthusiasm gets out of hand, Sophie tells him that she has to break up with him because she does not like furniture all that much. After paying for a meal Jim walked out on, she heads home. Where does Sophie find these men? First, there was the water-softener man and now the furniture man. It is humorous and does give insight to Sophie’s character – she is that bombshell woman that always winds up with the wrong man.

Meanwhile, Tori (Lauren Guglielmello) studies with John (Paul Drechsler-Martell) again. He is becoming a bit needy. He questions her to where she has been and why she has not called him back. When Tori tries to explain that she did not have her cell phone handy, Mia (Judith Kalaora) enters the room. It is time to get ready for the tournament. The girls go upstairs and try to find dresses that are appropriately “high fashion.” While Mia and Tori are getting ready, Tori asks Mia what she intends to do about Jack (Brandon Stumpf). Mia responds by saying that she has no idea what she is going to do about Jack.

Does anyone feel for John? He is hanging in there despite the fact that Tori keeps shooting him down. Does he have a fighting chance with Tori? I am not sure. Tori’s doing the classic brush-off move that signals to me that she’s just not that into him. However, as she said in an earlier episode, things do change. Will Mia ever confront Jack about his job description? Can Sophie find a guy who’s not a total dolt? All of these questions will have answers if you keep tuning in to episodes of High Heel Samurai.
