Ronda Roberts High Heel Samurai:
High Fashion and Street Gangs 2
August 1, 2008
Things are coming to a head. The High Heel Samurai are picking up momentum and popularity, attracting attention of many others. The episode begins with the girls meeting over lunch. We find out that Mia (Judith Kalaora) is all black and blue from the fight the night before when Sophie (Sam Panier) ribs her for her injuries. Mia explains that when people at work asked about the black eye, she had to lie (in order to keep her identity secret). However, with all the talk circulating about the four women that keeping their identities safeguarded from the public will become increasingly difficult.

Next,Tori (Lauren Guglielmello) brings up the Hub Tournament. The girls debate about whether competing in other tournaments when they are running their own is the best idea. Sophie thinks competing will be a great idea and Tori is also enthusiastic about the possibility of competing. Catia (Alexandra Maiorino), on the other hand, is suspicious of Raymond’s (Barry Kneller) motivations. One of the arguments she makes against participating in the competition is the reference to the four women being “The High Heel Samurai.” Mia agrees out that the reference “High Heel Samurai” makes her feel like they are a street gang instead of judges for a competition – but that she would not mind going. However, as was stated earlier in the season, they all have to be on board or they will not go. Catia concedes her position and agrees to go.

Will this competition turn out to turn against the High Heel Samurai, or will it enhance their experiences as street fighters? Will their employers learn of their dual identities? What sorts of dangers go along with the clamor over their tournament? All these questions will be answered as High Heel Samurai continues to unfold.
